DDN Expands AI Computing Collaborations to Simplify and Reduce Enterprise Adoption Risk

DDN’s Latest AI Reference Architecture Demonstrates DDN Optimization A3Me with Atos BullSequana XH3000 supercomputing platform. New enhancements to DDN Insight’s scalable monitoring streamline the management of large data repositories and make it easier for enterprises to adopt AI accelerators.

DALLAS, November 15, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — SC22, Booth #2828 — NMS®the global leader in artificial intelligence (AI) and multi-cloud data management solutions, today announced at SC22, the international conference on high performance computing, networking, storage and analytics, a new reference architecture in collaboration with Atos. DDN has also introduced improvements in its scalable and flexible monitoring interface, NMS Overviewto streamline and simplify the management and support of large-scale HPC and AI infrastructures.

DDN has worked closely with Atos on this new reference architecture to advance DDN’s goal of simplifying the adoption of advanced AI infrastructure for enterprises and research institutions. Historically, storage systems were often chosen to complement the compute infrastructure when it was deployed. This approach leads to data silos and requires data movement to use the optimal computing platform for a certain processing step. DDN’s approach allows data to remain in a single manageable system, regardless of compute technology, with scalable performance and capacity to accommodate any rate of growth.

The collaboration between Atos and DDN is based on a long relationship between the two companies. After deploying some of the largest supercomputing systems in the world together, the integration of DDN A3I® AI400X2 appliances with BullSequana XH3000 systems from Atos are a natural continuation of this relationship. With DDN’s parallel file system providing high throughput, low latency, and massive concurrency data for processing by XH3000 systems, customers can rest assured that they are maximizing the performance of their applications. Combining state-of-the-art GPU processing, proven HPC software suites, Atos next-generation Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) technology and a flexible, dense and secure-by-design architecture, BullSequana XH3000 delivers both unprecedented performance and unparalleled efficiency, which are complemented by DDN’s small footprint and cost-effective performance.

“Atos is delighted to continue and strengthen its current strategic partnership with DDN data storage solutions, which are a key component of the high-performance AI computing systems we provide to our customers,” said Dr. Cédric Bourrasset, responsible for high performance AI. IT at Atos. “This new reference architecture, based on our new BullSequana XH3000 and DDN A3I Appliances will provide the energy efficiency needed to meet future training challenges with the next generation of AI models.”

DDN Insight helps organizations see their entire infrastructure and workloads to improve service levels and find the root cause of complex issues faster. DDN Insight can monitor hardware across workloads down to the individual task level from a single dashboard. The new version 4.2 offers better visualization of components and real-time operation of a EXAscaler® environment.

“DDN systems address some of the greatest data challenges on earth,” said Dr. James Coomer, Senior Vice President of Products at DDN. “Our goal is to simplify the storage and management associated with large AI, HPC, and analytics datasets. These reference architectures and enhancements to DDN Insight enable customers to adopt and put into production new technologies, streamline management of their infrastructure and take proactive steps to keep their environment healthy.”
