It’s that time of year again. The pumpkins have all been smashed, the peppermint is in the mocha, and all Mariah Carey wants for Christmas is you (and her fat royalty check from Columbia Records). The pre-season holidays is officially upon us, with deals and discounts on a ton of games, consoles, and accessories. Here’s a quick look at some of the best Black Friday 2022 gaming deals.
The Nintendo Switch bundle includes Mario Kart 8 Deluxe free
Although Nintendo does not discount the console itself, some retailers will have a package of $300 including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a three-month subscription to Switch Online at no additional cost. The multiplayer racer is Switch’s best-selling game for a reason, and with a steady stream of new DLC courses throughout this year and next, gaming has never looked better. The deal is set to go live November 20 in stores and online and will likely sell out quickly.
Nintendo will also hold a temporary sale by dropping $40 off the price of Mario Kart Live: Home Track sets, and discount on a bunch of other games. Although the full list has yet to be revealed, we know it will include 33% off WarioWare: Unite! and Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brainand up to $20 off Animal Crossing: New Horizons, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildand other Switch hits.
G/O Media may receive a commission

The Xbox Series S is $50 off
The Xbox Series S won’t be the hottest console this holiday season, but it could definitely end up being the best deal. Normally $300, Microsoft sells it directly and through retailers for just $250. PS5 DualSense is $20 off
Unsurprisingly, Sony isn’t offering any specials on the PS5 console itself. Its current God of War Ragnarök and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 the bundles will save you $10 on the PS5 and those respective games, but also go fast. If you need a new PS5 DualSense, you’re in luck. Normally $70, the controller is now down to $50 across the full range of color variants, including Cosmic Red and Midnight Black. PS Plus subscriptions are also currently 25% off on all three tiers.
The deals are much better on the gaming front. 2022 Forbidden Horizon West is already $30 off, while The Last of Us Part I, released just over the summer, is $20 off. Here are some of the other great gaming discounts:

Two great VR games are free with one Meta Quest 2
Metaverse Evangelist Mark Zuckerberg hiked the price of the Meta Quest 2 VR headset earlier this year, but you can still get it for cheap in a current Black Friday bundle. It comes with beat the saber and Resident Evil 4, with the 128GB plan priced at just $350. All the soaking on Horizon Worlds aside, it’s a good deal.
